 Putting your affairs in order

Got this one from a friend. :) Enjoy!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A woman went to her doctor. The doctor, after an examination, sighed and said, "I've some bad news. You have cancer, and you'd best put your affairs in order."
The woman was shocked, but managed to compose herself and walk into the waiting room where her daughter had been waiting. "Well daughter, we women celebrate when things are good, and we celebrate when things don't go so well. In this case, things aren't well. I have cancer. Let's head to the club and have a martini."
After 3 or 4 martinis, the two were feeling a little less somber. There were some laughs and more martinis. They were eventually approached by some of the woman's old friends, who were curious as to what the two were celebrating.
The woman told her friends they were drinking to her impending end. "I've been diagnosed with AIDS." The friends were aghast and gave the woman their condolences.
After the friends left, the woman's daughter leaned over and whispered, "Momma, I thought you said you were dying of cancer, and you just told your friends you were dying of AIDS."
The woman said, "I don't want any of those bitches sleeping with your father after I'm gone."
That's "Putting Your Affairs In Order"
 Ok, Yesterday wasn't TOO bad
Ok, I got up about 1:30ish Saturday Morning and went to bed about 2:30ish Sunday Morning. We were in the driveway leaving at 4:44am. Ok, the first part of the trip wasn't bad, we dropped off Mom at the bus station in Bangor no problem. We had the dog with us as we were going to be gone for a long time and didn't want her to have to hold her bladder for more than she had to. It was also a surprise for my sister as this dog used to belong to our father and they had a special bond. We got at my mother's at about quarter past 8 in the morning. My sweetie took a nap and rested until about 1:30 - 2pm when we left to go to my Aunt's. The visit with the family went well. My sweetie took a walk with the dog when things got a little rough. He stayed out there until my sister got there and on my gosh it was so sweet! I missed the beginning as I was inside, but Pebbles (the dog) cried and cried and cried. She was SOOO happy to see my sister. :) It was so wonderful, my sister was so happy to see the dog. :)
The dog was very agitated at my mother's but she did fine at my aunt's. There were more people at my aunt's to pay attention to her and of course the yummy smell of food helped I'm sure. lol
Anyway, I gave them my presents, of them gave me presents (my grandmother made me a quilt!). We had a good time, my aunt went through her Christmas decorations and wanted to get rid of some so my sister and I went through them and now I got a few more Christmas decorations. :)
This is where the frustrating part comes in. When we left we were supposed to follow my step-father and my mother out but he's got a lead food and my brother in law, my sister, and my cousin were horsing around and we got blocked in. In the end we turned right instead of left and kept going. We got lost for 2 freaking hours! It took us 2 hours to get to Lewiston (where I'm from) which was really only about half an hour from where we started from! We made this big huge weird circle and it was horrible. I slept through most of it as I was exhausted. So a trip home that should have been about 3.5 to 4 hours took over 6 hours.
So we are home, I slept for about 10ish hours. And everything turned out ok in the end as we are HOME!
 Getting nervous...
I don't know why I let myself get all worked up whenever I have to go visit my family. It's like we don't know each other anymore which is partially true and really sad. I noticed that things changed when I went to college and grew up some. Now it seems that they don't know how to act around me anymore. When we talk it's always the same few questions, "What have you been up to?" "Are you working?" "How are you?". I feel that they are asking these questions because they don't know what else to say to me. I know I'm a different person now, but am I THAT different?
So I've got a crazy few days ahead of me. Saturday I have to get up at 2am so I can get ready to bring my Sweetie's mom to the bus station as she's going away for the week. Then we are heading down to my mom's house. We don't have to go to my aunt's until about 2 or 3 I think. It only takes about 2 hours or so from the bus station to my mom's if we go straight there which we won't. We'll probably stop at a Denny's for breakfast. Not only are we celebrating Thanksigiving on Saturday with my family, but we are also celebrating my grandmother's birthday and I'm giving my Christmas gifts to them. Which means I'm done shopping for my side of the family WOOO HOOO!!!!
I'm just ready for everything to be over and done with and us being back here.
Ah well... guess I'll go do something productive. It's 4am... guess I should go fold my laundry. Or rather I will do that as soon as my sweetie brings it downstairs for me. **sigh**
 Well I'm getting there...
Well I started reformatting my computer last night. I got almost everything back on here but still have lots of stuff to do. My IncrediMail stylebox is all a mess, I have to organize my thousands of letters and tags info their proper folders. I haven't opened PSP yet, I will have to set that up and make sure that all my filters are installed and working. I'm sure that will take quite a while to set up, but not nearly as long as it will take me to fix my IncrediMail style box. I figure if I work on my stylebox a little bit each day I should be all set in about..... oh 3 years.
But my email is working, I've got Guild Wars back on here, I've got my PSP life is good.
Anyway, I thought I would pop in and let you all know that I'm alive and well.
 Yesterday was...
my husband's birthday. As my special gift to him I am spending the weekend doing whatever he wants me to do. We've been playing lots of Guild Wars, I've been cooking for him too which for anyone who knows me that's a big deal as I don't like cooking. I've made some American Chop Suey (for the first time), some brownies, and tonight I'm making him my super special, very yummy burritos. Last night after all the brownies we weren't hungry enough for burritos so we ended up finishing off the American Chop Suey. We got 3 meals each out of it.
Tomorrow I'm going to reformat my computer. It's having some serious problems. I need to see if reformatting it will fix it or if it will need to be sent to the shop. If that's the case I could be without my computer for a few weeks. I'm going to go crazy.
Also, on Thursday I'm going to see my surgeon about my shoulder. We are going to discuss having my shoulder operated on. If that's the case I'll be away from the computer for some time as well. I don't know how long. All I know is that I can't deal with this pain much longer. I can be ok some of the time. If I keep my arm close to me and not stretched out or over my head I'm ok. But the minute I reach out with my left arm or raise it over my head I get alot of pain and my arm goes numb. I had an MRI and I have an inflammed and pinched tendon (where my left bra strap sits, so if I'm home I don't wear a bra cause it hurts).
I got my hair cut yesterday, it came out great. I've got almost all of the dead/damaged hair off now. I couldn't go any shorter though it would be too short. My stylist said in a couple months I could get the rest of it cut off. I wanted to color my hair as well because I want to hide all my whites and greys and she said I should frost it instead. But not to bleach it, just use the cap to pull the hair through and then use my regular hair color. So we'll see how this turns out as I've never done that before. If it's ok, maybe I'll even take a picture.
Well I better head off to take care of my email so I can play Guild Wars. I'll keep you guys updated on the disaster that is now my life.
